Artistic Vision
“True art is born of the need to create.”
— Albert Einstein
Kate explores material, form and emotion through layered surfaces and textures. Working primarily in metal—both recycled and raw—she decodes human identity by combining multiple techniques and media, revealing the masks we wear and the transformations within. Her paintings and sculptures blend abstraction with geometric elements to invite discovery and personal interpretation.
Conceptual Depth: Each work functions as an internal architecture to be felt, not just seen.
Material Experimentation: Geometry, tension and rhythm are hallmarks of her practice, executed with high-quality paints and durable techniques for lasting impact.
Sustainable Practice: Frequent use of reclaimed metals emphasizes rawness, resistance and environmental awareness.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.

Personal Statement
Kate | Katarzyna Bartnik
METAL-BASED CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
Women in Art at the Auction | Vienna
Metal as the language of the unconscious. Art as a map of inner transformation processes.
My name is Katarzyna Bartnik. Under the name dap studio I work as a conceptual designer in the field of metal. I use raw material – steel, sheet metal, production scraps. What seems cold and industrial becomes in my hands a narrative about the human being – about their development, their tensions, their disintegration, and their integration.
My works are inspired by the psychology of development, the neuroplasticity of the brain, and the concepts of Carl Gustav Jung. Archetypes, the Shadow, the process of individuation – these are the foundations of my sculptures. Each form is a symbolic imprint of a transformative process – just as sheet metal acquires new meaning, so a person can transcend their limits.
I deliberately work with recycled metal – a material full of history, marked by former functions. Its structure resembles the psyche: broken, welded, burdened – yet ready to be reshaped.
My objects are not decoration. They are a manifesto.
A map of inner tensions cast into sculptural form.
The Women in Art Auction at the Auction initiative in Vienna is, for me, a space of dialogue – with the viewer, with form, with the unconscious.
A narrative about a woman who gives meaning to metal.
Who creates symbols from remnants.
Who shapes freedom out of weight.
