“Saudade” is an untranslatable Portuguese term that refers to the melancholic longing or yearning. It’s a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present.
To me it blends longing, love, loss, and memory – we all know this feeling. This piece came all of a sudden; I had nothing fixed in my mind as I started, I just kept going.
