Brief Biography | Artistic Background
Lindsey Nobel (*1969, Baltimore, MD) is a Los Angeles–based artist whose work investigates the invisible systems connecting human consciousness, biological structures, and technological networks. Educated at the University of California, Santa Cruz, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Royal College of Art in London, she has developed a distinctive abstract language that merges gestural expression with systemic precision.
She studied Painting at the University of California, Santa Cruz, graduating with a BFA in 1992. Her further academic and artistic development included studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in 1991, and at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1989.
Her work has been exhibited internationally across the United States, Europe, and Asia. In 2021, she was selected for the Lucid Art Foundation Artist Residency. Her works are held in important private collections including Adam Lindemann, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Michael Dichand, and Bob Yari. Since 2026, she has been strategically positioned within the curated Women in Art Blue Chip Artists program.
Exhibitions & Key Milestones
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in San Diego, California, Lindsey Nobel is currently based in Los Angeles. Her artistic practice is also shaped by time spent in Monterrey, San Francisco, Rome, and New York City.
Her visual language is built on the invisible connections linking human beings with the organic and inorganic structures of everyday life. Through drawing, painting, photography, and sculptural mark-making, she explores the energetic grid between human, machine, and spiritual consciousness.
Nobel’s painting practice is rooted in abstract expressionism and minimalism. She works with acrylic, charcoal, coffee, and pen on canvas, creating works that engage themes such as the nervous system, marine biology, the Internet, the global economy, and evolving data-mapping networks.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe, including solo presentations in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Luxembourg, and Singapore, as well as group exhibitions at Sotheby’s New York, Laguna Art Museum, and the Venice Biennale satellite program.
In 2021, she was selected for the Lucid Art Foundation Artist Residency program. Her work is held in notable private collections including Adam Lindemann, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Michael Dichand, and Bob Yari.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
Personal Statement
My work is rooted in the invisible.
I am interested in the vast systems that connect us — human consciousness, machine intelligence, biological structures, spiritual presence, and the unseen architectures of everyday life. What cannot be grasped directly often leaves traces: in a line, a gesture, a rhythm, a field of energy.
Through painting, drawing, photography, and sculptural mark-making, I try to give form to these hidden networks. My practice moves between abstraction and perception, between the intimate and the planetary. The works may suggest the nervous system, oceanic life, digital mapping, economic flows, or the Internet, but they are ultimately all speaking about connection.
I see painting as a way of making the invisible felt. It is less about describing an image than about revealing a state of presence — a field in which human, machine, and spiritual consciousness are already in dialogue.
My work is an attempt to trace that language.
