Brief Biography | Artistic Background
Yvette Kießling (b. 1978, Germany · lives and works in Leipzig) is a prominent figure in contemporary landscape painting, translating perception, memory and direct experience of nature into multi-layered spatial compositions. A graduate and Meisterschülerin of Prof. Arno Rink at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, she developed a distinctive en plein air practice shaped by extended stays in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Vietnam, Morocco, Iceland and along European river landscapes.
Working outdoors under shifting light, weather and atmospheric conditions, Kießling captures the immediacy of place with expressive colour and dynamic brushwork. These impressions later condense in the studio into paintings marked by energy, movement and chromatic depth. The works she contributed to the December auction were likewise created on Zanzibar, carrying the island’s radiant atmosphere within them.
Kießling’s paintings are represented in numerous public collections, including the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig, Kunsthalle Hamburg, the Deutsche Bank Collection and the Kunsthalle der Sparkasse Leipzig. Internationally, she has exhibited in more than 100 solo and group shows across Zurich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Leipzig, Brussels, London, Zanzibar, Ramsen, Otterndorf and Koblenz. Her practice merges artistic research with a bold, colour-driven visual language that transforms the lived experience of place into compelling contemporary painting.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
