Landscape Painting

The first Covid lockdown profoundly shaped my artistic direction. Isolation sharpened my awareness of nature. I began to pay more attention to mountains, skies, and atmospheres. Once I have painted a mountain, I experience it differently in real life. I perceive its nuances more consciously, discover tones that often remain unnoticed, and encounter colours no one would expect in nature.

My landscape works aim to capture ephemeral mountain moments such as the last rays of sun on a peak, changing skies at dusk, clouds drifting around rugged rock faces. I spend much of my time chasing these scenes and immortalising them on canvas.

Food Painting

In addition to landscapes, I have developed a fascination for food painting. I transform ordinary, everyday motifs such as fried eggs or bacon into an artwork. Their unexpected visual richness, their colours, textures, structures captivate me, as well as the way smooth, wet, or greasy surfaces interact with light. These subtle effects challenge me to translate them painterly and reveal the beauty hidden in the ordinary.

Artistic Intent

Whether mountains or food, my goal is the same: to remind the viewers about the beauty in the ordinary and to open their eyes to their surroundings.

We live in an environment many people can only dream of, yet we often lose the ability to truly see it. Moments that transform the mountains into glowing atmospheres pass by unnoticed. Similarly, everyday objects contain visual worlds we rarely pay attention to because we’re busy rushing through our lives, ticking off our To Do’s.

Through my work, I hope to shift focus toward the positive.

In today’s global climate, I believe it is more important than ever to recognise small joys and give them the attention they deserve.

Our platform provides carefully curated access to artworks selected by art experts, guaranteeing a selection of the highest quality.

Our Mission and Actions

At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.

By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.

Artist Statement

My name is Katrin Hinterholzer, and I am a 27-year-old artist from Tyrol. After completing my Master’s degree in Primary Education, I made a deliberate choice: to devote myself entirely to painting. I am deeply grateful that I can now live from my art. Waking up each morning with anticipation for the day ahead feels like a gift.
