Brief Biography & Artistic Journey
Jacqueline Seeber was born in 1960 by Lake Zug in Switzerland and spent her youth in the Netherlands and Austria. Painting entered her life at an early age through her father, whose remaining colours she was allowed to use. The scent of turpentine, linseed oil and pigment became part of an artistic world that accompanied her throughout her development.
Seeber is a self-taught painter whose practice is grounded in the classical possibilities of oil. For many years, she worked in a naturalistic manner using traditional glazing techniques, applying naturally pigmented colours in multiple layers and translucent passages. This meticulous approach gave her a strong technical foundation and a deep sensitivity to surface, luminosity and atmosphere.
Over time, she expanded her visual language through experimentation with priming, overpainting, glazing, palette knife work, copying and abstraction. Encounters with galleries and an increasing international exhibition presence encouraged her to trust a more personal and emotionally driven style. Her work has since been presented in Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Malta, China, Israel and the United States.
Across landscapes, portraits and figurative compositions, Seeber’s work is shaped by an enduring interest in emotion, memory and the quiet psychological resonance of nature. Her artistic path combines technical discipline with intuition, transforming long-held inner images into paintings of stillness, longing and human presence.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
Artistic Statement
Jacqueline Seeber’s paintings emerge from a deeply personal dialogue between memory, emotion and observation. She carries an image within herself for a long time, allowing it to mature until the moment arrives when it can be translated onto canvas. Painting is therefore not simply representation, but a process of revealing what remains unspoken.
Her preferred medium is oil, applied through layered glazes and naturally pigmented colours. This technique enables her to build depth slowly, allowing light to move through the painted surface. At the same time, her practice embraces experimentation: contours may dissolve, surfaces may be reworked, and naturalistic forms may shift toward abstraction.
The human figure and the natural world form the central fields of her work. In portraits of women, couples and solitary figures, facial expression and gesture become carriers of emotional experience. The figures often communicate through silence, suggesting intimacy, vulnerability, distance or longing rather than offering a fixed narrative.
Her landscapes, sunken paths and water-lily paintings create spaces of inward reflection. Green tonalities, filtered light and the enclosing presence of nature evoke protection and calm, while water lilies can carry memories of colder or more rigid emotional periods. Nature becomes both a physical environment and a psychological landscape.
Through this interplay of classical oil technique, luminous colour and emotional intuition, Seeber creates paintings that move between stillness and tension. Her work invites the viewer to pause, enter the atmosphere of the image and recognize a reflection of their own inner world.
