Artist Bio
Joanna Gilbert is an Artist known for her colourful, large scale visceral abstract paintings. She shares a message of mental wellness through her art and encourages people to live a life from a place of authenticity.
Born in Mumbai, India, but raised in London, Joanna Gilbert began painting professionally 14 years ago. As a mum with 2 young children she lost the essence of who she was. It was only since completing a Masters at UAL Chelsea College of Arts in 2017 whilst simultaneously going through some of the most challenging times in her life, did she begin to understand what her art should be about.
Gilbert’s message is simple. In order to be the best versions of ourselves, we need to in-source not out-source; Her artwork beautifully blends the discovery of self-belief, self-worth with energy and mindset.
Her art is designed to remind and re-centre you to look within ourselves for the truth of who we really are so we can be who we are meant to be.
She is represented on both a national and international level and has many works in offices and hotels in and around the UK and Europe.
Significant exhibitions include the Saatchi Gallery, London, where she showed a diptych called ‘Fire in Your Soul’.
Gilbert has also exhibited in Turkey, Cyprus, USA and in Europe.
Avivson Gallery in London has provided her with various solo shows. ‘Freedom’ (2020), ‘Limitless’ (2021) and ‘Joy’(2022) were the names of the exhibitions and each encapsulated the essence of the infinite energy that surrounds us and is within us all.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
