Combine Painting or Combinepainting is the technique developed by Robert Rauschenberg in the style of Dadaism and Surrealism of mounting three-dimensional everyday objects or photo reproductions on abstract paintings. Here, the gestural painting of abstract expressionism is confronted with quotations from everyday life. In this context, Rauschenberg's decisive contribution to the development of Pop Art also becomes clear, which made the consumer and living world of modernism its preferred subject. A later technique of Rauschenberg's is the rubbing of printed magazine images onto canvas, the creation of three-dimensional installations and object art.

Of course, in Combine Painting there is also a certain design technique that is typical of the style.
Combine Painting is an assembly style. It combines collages and painting.
This combination is achieved by applying various three-dimensional objects, mostly objects of daily use, to paintings.
