In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts. By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape. Personal Statement The loss of my father in a tragic way has shaken and changed me in my being. In order to process my grief, I created an alter ego in the form of a fighter figure that stands for my higher self. It is reflective and made of an indestructible material. This figure stands for resurrection and strength. I want to give strength to myself and all those out there who have to cope with adversity. Join the Elite Circle Our Mission and Actions At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. Personal Statement With a career spanning nearly five decades, my artwork has been published widely and recognized internationally, engaging deeply with political systems and social justice. My creative expressions consistently reflect a profound concern for the human condition, exploring complex societal issues through a powerful visual narrative. In what I consider the second chapter of my artistic journey, I have shifted focus from the political to the anthropological, seeking to uncover the roots of our collective behaviors. This exploration delves into gender politics, the treatment of animals, and the intersection of neuroscience with established religious beliefs, aiming to understand the fragility of human existence. Recent Works: My literary contributions complement my visual art, focusing on thematic re-interpretations and underrepresented narratives: "Another History of Art" - Reimagines art history from the perspective of a female secular artist. "Original Sisters: Portraits of Tenacity and Courage" - Celebrates overlooked and marginalized women, bringing their stories to the forefront. "Striking a Pose" - A modern exploration of the male nude, challenging traditional perceptions and celebrating form. Vision and Goals: My ongoing goal is to provoke thought and inspire change through both my art and writing. By blending visual and written mediums, I aim to foster a deeper understanding of societal constructs and encourage a reevaluation of our cultural narratives.
