She was known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. O'Keeffe has been recognized as the "Mother of American modernism". In 1905, O'Keeffe began her serious formal art training at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and then the Art Students League of New York, but she felt constrained by her lessons that emphasised the recreation or copying of nature. In 1908, unable to fund further education, she worked for two years as a commercial illustrator and then taught in Virginia, Texas, and South Carolina between 1911 and 1918. During that time, she studied art during the summers between 1912 and 1914 and was introduced to the principles and philosophies of Arthur Wesley Dow, who created works of art based upon personal style, design, and interpretation of subjects, rather than trying to copy or represent them. This caused a major change in the way she felt about and approached art, as seen in the beginning stages of her watercolors from her studies at the University of Virginia and more dramatically in the charcoal drawings that she produced in 1915 that led to total abstraction. Alfred Stieglitz, an art dealer and photographer, held an exhibit of her works in 1917. Over the next couple of years, she taught and continued her studies at the Teachers College, Columbia University in 1914 and 1915. She moved to New York in 1918 at Stieglitz's request and began working seriously as an artist. They developed a professional relationship and a personal relationship that led to their marriage in 1924. O'Keeffe created many forms of abstract art, including close-ups of flowers, such as the Red Canna paintings, that many found to represent female genitalia although O'Keeffe consistently denied that intention. The imputation of the depiction of women's sexuality was also fueled by explicit and sensuous photographs that Stieglitz had taken and exhibited of O'Keeffe. O'Keeffe and Stieglitz lived together in New York until 1929, when O'Keeffe began spending part of the year in the Southwest, which served as inspiration for her paintings of New Mexico landscapes and images of animal skulls, such as Cow's Skull: Red, White, and Blue and Ram's Head White Hollyhock and Little Hills. After Stieglitz's death, she lived permanently in New Mexico at Georgia O'Keeffe Home and Studio in Abiquiú, until the last years of her life when she lived in Santa Fe. • 120, Paul Cezanne

The Card Players 1894-1895 120 Art ID: Cezanne Paul $ 288000000 47,5 x 57,0 cm Oil on canvas Musée d‘Orsay, Paris, France © akg-images Request for Rent Inquire Now Artist's Story Digital room visualization | Art Mockup Studio Digital room visualization - example only | Digitale Raumvisualisierung - Beispielabbildung > < Paul Cézanne (* 19 January 1839 in Aix-en-Provence; † 22 October 1906 Aix-en-Provence) was a French painter. Cézanne's work is assigned to different styles: From an art-historical point of view, Cézanne's works make him one of the pioneers of Classical Modernism. While his early works were still characterized by Romanticism - such as the murals in the Jas de Bouffan country house - and Realism, he arrived at a new pictorial language through intensive study of Impressionist forms of expression, which attempted to consolidate the deliquescent pictorial impression of Impressionist works. He abandoned the illusionistic distant effect, broke the rules established by the representatives of Academic Art, and strove for a renewal of traditional creative methods based on the Impressionist color space and color modulatory principles. His painting provoked incomprehension and ridicule among contemporary art critics. Until the late 1890s, it was mainly fellow artists such as Pissarro, Monet, and Renoir, as well as art collectors and the gallery owner Ambroise Vollard, who became aware of Cézanne's work and were among the first buyers of his paintings. Vollard opened the first solo exhibition in his Paris gallery in 1895, which led to a broader examination of the artist's work. Of the many artists who took their cue from Cézanne's work after his death, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque and André Derain deserve special mention. The contrasting orientation of the painterly works of the aforementioned artists reveals the complexity of Cézanne's oeuvre. From an art historical point of view, Cézanne's works rank him among the pioneers of Classical Modernism. Cézanne's pictorial subjects were often bathers, the landscape around the Montagne Sainte-Victoire mountains, still lifes, and portraits of his model, his lover and later wife, Hortense Fiquet. Animus DAPS 5/5 2025 2360 Art ID: Bartnik Kate $ SOLD 150 x 90 x 7 cm Concrete, acrylic, oil, metal frame Request for Rent Inquire Now Artist's Story Digital room visualization | Art Mockup Studio Digital room visualization - example only | Digitale Raumvisualisierung - Beispielabbildung > < Animus, according to Carl Gustav Jung, is a male archetype that exists in the unconscious of the woman – a figure of intellect, of word, and of action. The circular form – archetypal, primordial – stands for infinity, inner cycles, and transcendence. Yet here the circle is neither smooth nor perfect. The concrete, cold and flawed, was deliberately cracked, scratched, burned. Like a soul that has borne the weight of matter and yet preserved its essence. The surface is covered with layers of fast-drying acrylic paint – like the decisions of the mind – and oil paint – deep and slow like emotions. In this depiction, Animus is less a male figure than an inner force demanding recognition and integration. It captures the moment when the woman confronts her inner “him” – not to submit, but to gain access to his qualities: logic, initiative, courage, and language. It is a portrait of the inner dialogue – the one never spoken aloud, yet whose echo remains forever. • 21, Albrecht Duerer

Young Hare 1502 21 Art ID: Duerer Albrecht $ 70000000 25,1 x 22,6 cm Watercolour and gouache on paper, Albertina, Graphische Sammlung, Vienna, Austria © akg-images Request for Rent Inquire Now Artist's Story Digital room visualization | Art Mockup Studio Digital room visualization - example only | Digitale Raumvisualisierung - Beispielabbildung > < Albrecht Dürer the Younger (also Duerer; * 21 May 1471 in Nuremberg; † 6 April 1528 Nuremberg) was a German painter, graphic artist, mathematician and art theorist. His paintings, drawings, copper engravings and woodcuts make him one of the outstanding representatives of the Renaissance. Dürer established his reputation and influence across Europe when he was in his twenties due to his high-quality woodcut prints. He was associated with the most important Italian artists of his time, including Raphael, Giovanni Bellini and Leonardo da Vinci, and was patronised by Emperor Maximilian I from 1512. Dürer was recognised by both the Lutheran and Episcopal churches. Dürer's vast body of work includes engravings, his preferred technique in his later prints, altarpieces, portraits and self-portraits, watercoulors and books. The woodcuts are more Gothic than the rest of his work. His well-known engravings include the three master engravings Knight, Death and the Devil (1513), St Jerome in his Study (1514) and Melencolia I (1514). His watercolours mark him as one of the first European landscape artists, while his woodcuts revolutionised this medium. Dürer's introduction of classical motifs into northern art through his knowledge of Italian artists and German humanists secured his reputation as one of the most important figures of the northern Renaissance. This is underpinned by his theoretical treatises, which include principles of mathematics, perspective and ideal proportions. Albrecht Dürer was one of the most influential, versatile and important personalities in European art and is therefore often considered Germany's most famous painter. Unlike many of his contemporaries and predecessors, he was one of the few artists who also dealt with the creation of art in theory. It is therefore not surprising that, in addition to his numerous paintings, copperplate engravings and woodcuts, he also published several books dealing, for example, with human proportions or geometry. However, Dürer's fame is undoubtedly due in large part to his numerous pictures, which are rich in detail. In these he was always intent on depicting nature as faithfully as possible and showing every detail, no matter how small. An achievement that no other painter before or after him could surpass. In his home town of Nuremberg, Albrecht Dürer is one of the most important personalities and is still revered today. The Germanic National Museum located there conducts extensive research on the artist and also exhibits some of his works. In addition, there is the Albrecht Dürer House, a unique memorial site where Dürer himself lived and worked for almost 20 years. Today, the well-preserved and renovated burgher's house from 1420 is extensively museumised, making a visit worthwhile for everyone. A Sunday at Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte 1884-1886 156 Art ID: Seurat Georges $ 250000000 207,5 x 308,0 cm Oil on canvas Art Institute of Chicago, IL, USA © akg-images Request for Rent Inquire Now Artist's Story Digital room visualization | Art Mockup Studio Digital room visualization - example only | Digitale Raumvisualisierung - Beispielabbildung > < Georges-Pierre Seurat (*2 December 1859 in Paris; † 29 March 1891 Paris) was a French Post-Impressionist artist. He is best known for developing the painting techniques known as chromoluminarism and pointillism. Georges-Pierre Seurat was the third child of Ernestine Faivre and Antoine-Chrysostome Seurat. He was born on December 2, 1859 in Paris into a middle-class family. He entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1878. He then studied with Henri Lehman. Together with artists such as Paul Signac, Albert Dubois-Pilllet and Odilon Redon, he was responsible for the Salon des Indépendents, which they established as an alternative to the state-sponsored salon exhibitions. Seurat's Conté colored pencil drawings are less famous than his paintings, but they have also garnered much critical acclaim. Seurat's artistic personality combined characteristics that should normally be opposed and incompatible: on the one hand his extreme and delicate sensitivity, on the other hand a passion for logical abstraction and an almost mathematical precision of the mind. His large-format work A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (1884–1886) changed the direction of modern art through the initiation of Neo-Impressionism and is one of the icons of painting of the late 19th century. Seurat is also praised for his technique of pointillism, which almost scientifically breaks down the color surface into dots of color that blend from a distance. 120, Paul Cezanne

2360, Kate Bartnik

21, Albrecht Duerer

156, Georges Seurat
