Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.

Artist Statement
Valeska von Brase is rooted in the tradition and discipline of abstract painting. Her predominantly large-scale works, executed mostly in oil and pigment on canvas, unfold an extraordinary command of colour - opening spaces that operate simultaneously on a sensory and intellectual level. Within these chromatic fields, themes of contemporary life emerge: questions of proximity and distance, belonging, humanity, and the fragile equilibrium of our social coexistence.
Like Anselm Kiefer, she binds material and meaning into a condensed landscape of experience. Like Gerhard Richter, she navigates with confidence the tension between control and dissolution, sharpness and blur, the visible and that which remains beyond perception.
Yet her work asserts a distinct and unmistakable voice. Valeska von Brase transforms landscape into realms of longing - spaces that describe not geographical locations, but states of being. Her transparent layers both reveal and conceal; they allow light to break through like memory, while shadows settle like sedimented thoughts. In this way, her paintings become environments of perception in which the personal and the contemporary take on a new, poetic form.
Valeska von Brase’s painting is a search for clarity within a complex world. It invites viewers to look deeper than the eye alone can see and to discover within colour that quiet, almost promising place where emotion, space, and presence merge into one.
