Artistic Journey
Evelyn Grill is known for her large-scale works and series, where she has developed a unique artistic genre that seamlessly blends screen printing with painting and textile techniques. Her creative process is a captivating mix of spontaneous, intuitive actions and meticulously executed, time-intensive interventions, all without a preconceived conceptual plan. This approach stands in stark contrast to her otherwise rational and structured personality.
Driven by an inner urge to create something she perceives as both "beautiful" and "true," Evelyn captures what her inner vision reveals in this deeply personal process. Her works are not merely the result of her instinctive approach but also reflect the experience gained from countless experiments combined with precise craftsmanship.
In recent years, her commitment to sustainability has become a significant part of her artistic practice. Through upcycling, she breathes new life into used materials, reassembling and repurposing them in ways that bring them into the present. She often incorporates previously used paper stencils into collages, pieces together fabric samples into patchwork-like surfaces, and uses print cloths with overlapping layers of color and pattern as the starting point for new creations.
Evelyn's passion for textile craftsmanship is evident in the stitching that adorns many of her pieces. The sewing machine becomes a drawing tool, with figures and landscapes emerging through the embroidery process to take on concrete forms. The seemingly endless thread serves as a connection between these forms, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all things and people—a theme that resonates deeply in her work.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
